Publishing shifts to the Job Market via the Shifts page

You can publish shifts to the Job Market via the Shifts page.

You can get to the shifts page via:

  • The main Job list
    • Go to Jobs > View Jobs
    • Click on the Shifts button under the Manage bookings column
  • The Dashboard
    • Click on Goto > Shifts on the Upcoming tab
  • The Staff and job quick search, bu clicking on the name of the job 

You can publish shifts to the job market in two ways:

  • Publish all shifts at once
    • Click on Publish All to publish all locations and shifts on that job to the Job Market
    • You will be prompted to provide the details for this jo
      • To use the copy added as the job description on the job overview page you can click [Use copy from job description], then amend as required to make it suitable for the staff Job Market
    • You will now be prompted to search for staff for all locations on this job
    • Click OK and you will be taken to the staff search will the location proximity pre-filled with all the locations on this job
      • You can add, change or remove your search criteria and then press Search to show a list of staff within your search parameters
      • From here you can perform the required action, which may include:
  • Publish by location by location (only available via the By Locations tab)
    • This allows you to publish certain locations only
    • You will be prompted to provide some details about the job for the staff to see in the Job Market for the shifts for this job and location.
    • Once a location is published you have the following options available:
      • Unpublish location
        • Remove all shifts for this location from the Job Market
      • Edit description
        • Edit the Job Market description for this location
      • Staff within a certain distance
        • This is determined by the distance added into Settings >  Staff options > Default Job Market search radius

Remove shifts from the Job Market

To remove shifts from the Job Market

  • You can remove all shifts from the Job Market by clicking on Unpublish all
  • You can remove shifts for one or multiple locations from the Job Market by clicking on each Published button and clicking Unpublish location

Edit the Job Market description

To edit the Job Market description

  • Click on the edit button next to each location

Preparation for using the Job Market to publish shifts

Email templates

settings > Do not send email when staff apply for a shift

Settings > Remove staff from the applied dates that they have been booked onto

Settings > Remove booked shifts from the Job Market

Add a custom Job Status to the job and/or job locations

You can add a custom status, note or message to jobs or locations on jobs in the Staffarea Job Market. These notes can be such things as:

  • Shift availability status
  • Information-based notes about the job and/or location
  • General comments about a location

To apply a custom Job Status to a job or individual locations on a job

  • Go to the Shifts page for the job
    • To add a status to the job as a whole click on Add Status here on the shifts page
    • To add a status to individual locations click on Add Status on each location
      • Note: Staff can still see these Job Statuses in their Staffarea Job Market via a job invite even though the job itself is not published on the shifts page
  • You can now see a list of your Job Statuses
    • You have the option to
      • Add New or Edit to manage your list of Job Statuses 
      • Click the [+Use] button to apply this Job Status to your shifts
      • To change or remove a status just click back on the status currently applied
  • These custom Job Statuses will be viewed by staff as demonstrated here in the Staffarea > Job Market
