'Products' question type

This question will allow you to create a grid whereby you can add set dropdown lists to each column. The data you are able to select in the next column to the right can be dependent on the data selected in the previous column.

This type of question is useful in this example:

  • Brand (Column 1)
    • Click the field and select a Brand from the list
  • Category (Column 2)
    • Click the field and select a Catogory from the list
    • The Category list will be based upon the Brand selected in column 1
  • Product (Column 3)
    • Click the field and select a Product from the list
    • The Product list will be based upon the Category selected in column 2

In this example this type of question would allow you to easily find products from a list of what could be hundreds or thousands based upon Brand > Category > Product. You can then add a 4th or 5th column as a simple textfield to add sales or interactions, etc for the product selected.

To use this question type first prepare a CSV document in this format for the categories and items you which to import:

To add a 'products' form element:

  • Click to add this form element to your survey from the 'General' tab:
  • Select the blue button to edit the element:
  • By default you will see this with just 1 column added added. Click on 'Manage items' to add columns and items:
  • Now click on 'import items' and select the file you CSV with your categories and items and press OK:
  • Your list will now be imported. You can adjust columns names, add new items and adjust existing items manually:
  • We recommend mantaining the exact list in the CSV as you cannot import a new list on top of the existing entries. When importing new items it will overwrite all existing items with the new list.
  • You can now add any custom columns whereby your staff can add sales or interaction totals against the items:

To use the 'products' form element:

  • Within the form in the staffarea this new product question will look like this:
  • You can now click on each field in each column to show the list available to select from. You also have a search field to narrow the list:
  • When data is selected in the first column, the data is the next column is based upon what you selected in the previous column to help you find your product quickly:

'Location' question type

This question type allows you to select a location from Google Maps.

You can find the 'Location' question type under the Location tab.

Click on the left arrow to add this to your survey:

The following options are available:

  • Title - The question you need to ask
  • Mandatory - Is this question required in order to submit the survey
  • Keep value - After pressing submit and opening a new survey, this question will be pre-filled with the answer you gave in the previous survey
  • Hidden - Use when you need to remove this question and data has been submitted against it
  • Role - If you need to restrict this question to a certain role select it here
  • Show on submissions list - This will show this questions and answers as a column in the submissions list

To use this survey question you have 2 options to enter an address:

  1. Click this button and your location will be found automically and entered into the location field:
  2. Simply start typing and Google Maps will find what you are looking for:

Once you have selected a location you can then click on the button that appears to view this location on Google Maps:

'Check-in to Location' question type

This question type allows you to check-in to any location or a given location within a given radius. It will also date and time stamp that check-in.

You can find the 'Check-in to Location' question type under the Location tab.

Click on the left arrow to add this to your survey:

The following options are available by clicking on the blue edit button:

  • Title - The question you need to ask
  • Mandatory - Is this question required in order to submit the survey
  • Keep value - After pressing submit and opening a new survey, this question will be pre-filled with the answer you gave in the previous survey
  • Hidden - Use when you need to remove this question and data has been submitted against it
  • Role - If you need to restrict this question to a certain role select it here
  • Latitude - You can add manually or this field will auto fill when you add a 'Check-in address search'
  • Longitude - You can add manually or this field will auto fill when you add a 'Check-in address search'
  • Radius - Add a check-in radius
  • Check-in address search - Search the check-in location using Google Maps
  • Country - Select a country

To use this survey question type simply click on the 'Check-in' button on the survery and if you are within the given radius of the selected location it will add your location and time to the fields shown here:

'Venue' question type

This question type allows you to create a dropdown of venues from your internal venue database. See: Venue database.

You can find the 'Venue' question type under the Location tab.

Click on the left arrow to add this to your survey:

The following options are available:

  • Title - The question you need to ask
  • Mandatory - Is this question required in order to submit the survey
  • Keep value - After pressing submit and opening a new survey, this question will be pre-filled with the answer you gave in the previous survey
  • Hidden - Use when you need to remove this question and data has been submitted against it
  • Role - If you need to restrict this question to a certain role select it here
  • Manage venues - Click this to select the venue for the dropdown
    • Use the search in the left column to narrow you results
    • Select a venue and then use the arrows to move to the right as a venue that will show in the dropdown

To use this survey question type simply start typing to search for a venue from the list of available venues selected to show in this dropdown from the internal venue database:

When the venue is selected a 'Notes' button will appear:

This button will give you any notes attached to this venue that have been added:

  • Directly into the venue database for this venue
  • Via the 'Venue linked' question type

'Venue linked' question type

This question type allows you to save the data added to this question in the survey back to the venue in the venue database

You can find the 'Venue linked' question type under the Location tab.

Click on the left arrow to add this to your survey:

IMPORTANT: This question can only save data to a venue if you have the 'Venue' question added as well, as this question needs a venue to save the data back to.

The following options are available:

  • Title - The question you need to ask
  • Mandatory - Is this question required in order to submit the survey
  • Keep value - After pressing submit and opening a new survey, this question will be pre-filled with the answer you gave in the previous survey
  • Hidden - Use when you need to remove this question and data has been submitted against it
  • Role - If you need to restrict this question to a certain role select it here
  • Show on submissions list - This will show this questions and answers as a column in the submissions list
  • Venue question - This is where you select the 'Venue' question to save the submitted data to.

To use this survey question type simply add your text and providing you have selected a venue in the 'Venue' question type the notes you add will be saved back to the venue.

'Photo' question type

This question type allows you to add photos to anywhere in your survey

You can find the 'Photo' question type under the General tab.

Click on the left arrow to add this to your survey:

The following options are available:

  • Title - The question you need to ask
  • Mandatory - Is this question required in order to submit the survey
  • Keep value - After pressing submit and opening a new survey, this question will be pre-filled with the answer you gave in the previous survey
  • Hidden - Use when you need to remove this question and data has been submitted against it
  • Hide in report form - This will hide this question in the Report Explorer
  • Role - If you need to restrict this question to a certain role select it here
  • Min photos required - Will let you know on the survey how many are required and the survey will not be able to be submitted without this minimum amount of photos
  • Allow to add a marker on the photo - when a photo a added to the survey this will allow a marker to be placed onto the image. See more details below.

To use this question type in a survey simple click on 'Add photo':

If you can add a marker to an image you can do so as follows:

  • Click on add photo to add select and add your photo
  • You photo will now appear as shown
  • Click on the thumbnail to see a larger image and then click anywhere on the image to add markers
  • You can remove a marker by clicking on the marker you wish to remove
